Durian Garden Upgrades Guide: Farm Purchases, Costs and Unlocks
Durian Garden upgrades and what they cost: the $50 Water Well, the 5,000 rubber plantation plus 1,500 per tree, worker hires from 120, and 200 tree seeds.
Durian Garden puts you on a working farm, then sells you the pieces that make it bigger: a $50 well that supplies the watering can, a 5,000 rubber plantation with 1,500 trees, worker hires, and 200 tree seeds. Here is what each purchase costs, where you make it, and which ones come first.

Farm purchases at a glance
Data table
| Purchase | Cost | Where to buy it |
|---|---|---|
| Water Well | $50 | Purchase pad at your farm during the starting tutorial; confirm the buy dialog to receive the watering can. |
| Rubber plantation | 5,000 to unlock, then 1,500 per rubber tree | Purchase point at the plantation boundary; paying opens the rubber side, where the trees are sold. |
| Farm worker | 120 and 200 on the hire list; Noi 6,000; salary bill just over 200 baht a day afterwards | Hire point at the farm. |
| Tree seeds | 200 | Seed shop; stock restocks roughly every 5 minutes. |
| Orchard sprinkler | 50 | Purchase point in the orchard area; a timed sprinkler for watering the durian trees. |
A car showroom also stands on the map, where vehicles appear to be purchasable — a separate kind of buy from the farm upgrades above.
What a new save starts with
A new save opens with a hut from a FREE tutorial pad, one free farm plot, free durian seeds to plant, and an inherited pickup truck for hauling durians to market. More land, more trees and hired help are the paid side.
Water Well: $50 for the watering can
The Water Well is the tutorial's first paid purchase. A pad at your farm reads "WATER WELL — Get a watering can! — $50": step on it, confirm "BUY WATER WELL for $50?", and the watering can joins your hotbar as Watering Can (3/3). Click the soil to water your trees from then on.
The same step also shows gift banners for 3 Basic Tree Tonics and a Headlamp. Use a tonic on a tree that says NEEDS FERTILIZER, and click with the headlamp to wear it.
Rubber plantation: 5,000 to unlock, then 1,500 a tree
The rubber plantation next to your starting plot is a second area, and it stays locked behind a 5,000 unlock. Pay at the purchase point on the plantation boundary and the rubber side opens. Rubber trees cost 1,500 each there, so budget the unlock plus 1,500 for every tree you want to plant.
Workers: 120, 200 or 6,000, plus a daily salary
The hire point at the farm lists workers you can take on. The first hires listed cost 120 and 200, and one worker, Noi, was hired for 6,000. Once hired, the worker was seen watering the plants, and a salary bill followed for just over 200 baht a day.
Seeds and tonics
Tree seeds cost 200 at the seed shop, which restocks roughly every 5 minutes (a "The Seed Shop has restocked!" banner can announce it). When your cash is still small, the cheap Kradumthong variety is the usual starting seed; once money flows in, pricier varieties like Monthong are worth adding. With seeds in hand, the planting guide covers getting them into the ground.
For fertiliser, the item you get is the Basic Tree Tonic — a free gift of 3 — used on a tree that says NEEDS FERTILIZER.
What to buy first
In a brand-new save the tutorial makes the first purchase for you — the $50 Water Well — and seeds at 200 are the cheap next step while your cash builds toward the 5,000 plantation and worker hires.
For choosing among farm improvements, published guides rank them this way:
Priorities
- 1
Tree placement
A compact layout keeps harvesting fast and easy to monitor.
- 2
Growth acceleration
Shortens production cycles, so each tree pays out sooner.
- 3
Storage and collection points
Less of your inventory sits exposed, including to night thieves.
- 4
Truck access lanes
Faster loading and delivery runs to market.
- 5
Decorative upgrades
Visual only — no income benefit.
These rankings are guide recommendations rather than verified in-game numbers, and prices and exact upgrade effects can change, so compare the current in-game description before spending.
Match the purchase to your actual problem: if fruit takes too long, look at growth improvements; if you cannot grow enough, compare the farm expansion options shown in game; if valuable fruit is waiting, finish a sale before taking a risk.
A few spending rules help too: only buy an upgrade when it improves several future harvest cycles, not just one sale; keep a working Cash balance so harvesting and selling never stall; expand once the harvest-sale cycle is producing surplus Cash; and don't spend most of your early Cash on upgrades with long payback periods.
Once the well is bought and the plantation is in budget, the Durian Garden beginner guide picks up the rest of the early game, and the how-to-make-money guide covers filling the budget faster. Codes have their own page: Durian Garden codes.
