Durian Garden Beginner Guide: Your First Planting, Harvest and Sale

Last updated:

This Durian Garden beginner guide walks through the first planting-to-sale loop — the free hut and farm plot pads, the $50 water well, planting and watering the free durian seed, harvesting, and selling by pickup at the central sales zone — then explains what to buy with the first sale.

Quick answer

Claim the three tutorial pads at spawn — the hut and the farm plot are free, and the water well costs $50 — then plant the free durian seed on your plot, water it with the Watering Can, harvest the ripe fruit, load it into your starter pickup and sell at the central sales zone. Right after that first sale, buy more seed at the shop beside the sales point and run the loop again.

Durian Garden opens with a numbered tutorial (Step 1/9), and its first three glowing pads at spawn set up one complete planting-to-sale run. Two are free — BUILD A HUT and FARM PLOT — while the third, WATER WELL, sells for $50. Claim all three and you have what you need to grow and sell your first durians.

Your first planting-to-sale loop

Work through these steps in order: the pads come first, then the grow-and-sell run.

Checklist

  • Build the hut

Walk onto the glowing BUILD A HUT pad at spawn. The pad is free, and stepping onto it instantly builds your wooden hut and fence.

  • Claim the farm plot

Step onto the free FARM PLOT pad to claim a plot. You also get a free durian seed and the warning that other players can steal your durians during THE PURGE.

  • Buy the water well

The WATER WELL pad sells the well for $50 — confirm the BUY WATER WELL prompt. You immediately receive a Watering Can, a Headlamp and a free gift of 3 Basic Tree Tonics.

  • Plant the free seed

Plant the free durian seed on your new plot. The tree also has a chance to become a big tree.

  • Water the tree

Click the soil with the Watering Can, then let it grow. While it matures, the display shows percent grown and height in meters.

  • Harvest the ripe fruit

Pick the durians off the fully grown tree. Recorded fruit weights ran from 2.43 kg to about 5 kg.

  • Load the pickup

Put the durians in the back of the starter pickup truck, which you inherit alongside the house.

  • Sell in the sales zone

The sales zone is in the central area, away from the farm, so drive there, pull into the zone and press E. Observed first sales paid 12 baht in one session and 9 baht in another.

The first session also leaves you with the tools the loop relies on:

Starter itemWhat the game says it does
Watering CanClick the soil to water your trees
Basic Tree Tonic ×3Use one on a tree that says NEEDS FERTILIZER
HeadlampClick with it to wear it
BatDescribed as for hitting thieves

The last two are night gear: other players can take your durians after dark, and you can take theirs. More on that below.

What to do right after your first sale

Buy more seed. A seed seller stands in the central area close to the sales point, so the shop is a short stop straight after selling. Each seed card shows its current price, and prices move up and down; one seed was priced at 200 in one session. Stock rotates roughly every five minutes, and a "The Seed Shop has restocked!" banner marks the refresh.

With little money, Kradumthong (กระดุมทอง) is the realistic first pick; the free starter seed handed out in one session was Kradumthong as well. Varieties such as Chani (ชนี) and Monthong (หมอนทอง) are the ones to buy once you have more money. The variety names are in Thai, so the Durian Garden durian varieties guide is the place to sort out what each name means.

Each purchase restarts the same loop — plant, water, harvest, haul, sell — and you can keep planting until your plots are full. Codes are tracked on the Durian Garden codes page.

Night: other players can take your durians

The warning appears the moment you claim your plot: other players can steal your durians during THE PURGE. At night they can take fruit from your farm, and you can do the same on other players' farms. The Headlamp and the Bat are the night tools: the Headlamp, clicked to wear, is the light you work by after dark, and the Bat is described as for hitting thieves.

The rubber plantation comes later

Beyond the durian orchard, the game adds a rubber plantation: it unlocks for 5,000 in cash, and rubber trees cost about 1,500 each in that same tester-build session, so treat both prices as changeable. The workable order is to plant your durian plots to capacity and sell those harvests before taking on rubber. The Durian Garden upgrades guide covers the farm purchases, and the rebirth guide continues from there.
